Can I be hypnotised?

The answer is simply yes! My work does not always involve hypnosis but when it does I do not use any deep trance states where you have a sense of being ‘out of it’. In fact you are probably very good at hypnosis already but just don’t know it yet, have you ever daydreamed? The type of hypnosis I use in therapy is a trance state very similar to daydreaming or when we drift off in conversation. When we daydream we are aware of physically being in one place but mentally somewhere else, such as at work or on holiday. My approach utilises this light trance state to access the subconscious to do the change work that is required to resolve the problem. Will I lose control?

Absolutely not! Just like when you are daydreaming or you drift off in conversation you are totally in control of your actions and are aware of your surroundings at all times. Can I remain hypnotised?

No, no-one has left me in a trance. IF you were left in trance, which ofcourse you will not be, you would either drift off to sleep and awake feeling refreshed or you would just open your eyes – remember you are in control the whole time.

What is Cognitive Hypnotherapy

Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy is different from conventional hypnotherapy as it is a blend of different therapies; Positive Psychology, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Wordweaving and Hypnosis to name a few. This blended approach to therapy and coaching gives me an extensive ‘tool box’ which enables me to create a bespoke solution that is unique to you. I am trained at understanding how you do your problem, how to break it down and how to create the right solution for you.

What is Relationship Coaching?

Relationship Coaching is different from marriage counselling because it is a proactive approach that looks at why and where you are having problems and creates a programme to resolve them. Relationship Coaching is not about arguing, having a place to be heard or asking me to say who is right or wrong. Relate, marriage counselling and mediation are better suited in those circumstances. My approach requires commitment and engagement to do the necessary work so we can establish the problem and work through to a solution. How many sessions will I need?

This depends purely on the individual, some issues can be resolved in 2-3 sessions where other issues can take 4-5, normally session 1 and 2 are approximately a week apart with subsequent sessions 2 weeks or a month apart. Cognitive Hypnotherapy and Coaching is a brief therapy when compared to other forms of therapy which can take years. I will endeavour to give you some guidance as to the number of sessions you might require at the end of our first appointment.

How much is a session?

Each session is 90 minutes and costs £80, payable by cash at the time of the appointment or by bank transfer 24 hours before. I work Monday to Friday from 9am to 6:30pm, 5pm is my last appointment.

Can you work with me?

I work with many people who have a proactive approach to changing their life, who are looking to take the not so easy steps forward and are up for a challenge. There are a few people I am not allowed to work with as I am not permitted to by CNHC and my insurance company. Unfortunately I can not work with you if you have been diagnosed with a mental health condition such as Schizophrenia, Psychosis, Borderline Personality Disorder or Bipolar.
